Top grade SP 5.56 Defensive Ammo
Federal Champion 5.56x45mm NATO 55 Grain Jacketed Soft Point is a reliable and accurate round. Excellent for use in defensive situations where over penetration can be an issue. Not barrier blind by much, the bullet will disintegrate on impact with a harder surface like through drywall or 2 x 4's. Not recommended for close in steel targets, use a frangible round for that, these may send sharps your way if too close to the steel target.

The 5.56x45mm NATO 55 Grain JSP rounds have been my go-to for years, and they've never let me down when I needed reliable performance in the field. I love how these soft points expand just right when they hit their target, giving me the clean, ethical harvests I always aim for with smaller game. The brass casings have always cycled flawlessly through my AR, even during those long days at the range when the gun gets hot and dirty. If you're looking for something that shoots straight, hits hard, and won't empty your wallet too badly, I honestly can't recommend these rounds enough.

Ideal for defensive use where over penetration could br an issue. Also a good small to medium game round, could take large game with proper shot placement. Not fully barrier blind, as could shatter before going through glass or light metals.

practice ammo
This ammo's purpose is to let me try a Federal Soft point round almost identical to the Federal$2.00 a round ammo, at a much cheaper price. If I'm paying that kind of money, I really want Black Hills' level of QC.

Top Notch SP 5.56, DefensivRound
These are straight shooting and accurate, well made and reliable. Never had a mis-fire with this 5.56 Round. Great for use in small to medoum size game, and for personal defense when over penetration can be an issue.

One of the best!
I’ve been shooting these for a couple years now. The only failures I’ve experienced were through user error. They shoot MOA or better with my sub $600 AR at 100yds using sandbags. Not the cheapest round out there for a range day, but I keep them around for home defense.

great stockpile ammo
I dont often see 556 soft points, so i bought these to test them out as i was looking for a good soft point to stock up on. Federal has never disappointed me before, and that record still holds with these rounds. I usually run 62grains+ but for the price, i had to pick these up and was not disappointed. Groups well enough and cycles properly in all my guns when tested.
