For the money and being a Gen 1 night vision device, this is a good buy. It does what it is designed for and is useful for simple nighttime duties. It uses common batteries and has decent battery life. Don't expect military grade performance, but the resolution is decent at a distance of 50-70 meters. Beyond that distance, performance drops off. I would recommend this product to anyone wishing to get their hands on their first night vision product.
