Legacy Reviewer's Review of Firefield 1st Focal Plane Waterproof Illuminated 1-6x24mm Rifle Scope

I agree. After putting it though its paces, here is the good and bad.
Good:
1. Virtually perfect 1x;
2. Accurately calibrated mildot reticle for ranging and related purposes;
3. Fully repeatable adjustments (boxed perfectly across windage and elevation);
4. Holds zero well;
5. POI does not change across all magnification levels;
6. Good quality rings for price, if their low height works for your particular rifle;
7. Very good brightness and minimal chromatic (color consistencies and related) issues;
8. Good weight and compact size;

Bad:
1. MOA adjustments for windage and elevation, while repeatable, is not fully calibrated;
2. Needs a Flash Kill for military or police uses, as illuminated reticle shines bright both ways;
3. Rings a bit too low for my specific rifle M&P AR-15, Burris PEPR worked great as replacement; but considering they are free rings, I shouldn't complain as they are solid and tighten well;
4. Focus changes slightly between 4 and 6x (could possibly be my eyesight and progressive lenses);
5. Reticle a little beefy at 6x for some uses like competitive shooting. However, if you are a competitive shooter you ate not likely looking at a $200 scope;

Unknown/taste/usage dependent:
1. Durability not known yet, although dropped rifle/scope on concrete from 4 feet, but held zero with just a little scratch;
2. While I like MOA/Mil adjustment/reticle combo, and find it simpler to use in field, some like Mil/Mil or MOA/MOA -- just a note;
3. Like many, I love Front Focal Plane scopes, but some like Second Focal Plane better for bench shooting-- matter of taste;
4. Ring height may be a bit low for some;

Although it does not compare to $2k and above FFP in a few ways, every scope has its tradeoffs (I've used S&B, IOR, Vortex, Zeiss and Swarovski for years, and they each have some things that I like better or worse than the Firefield and each other), it is an absolutely great match for something like M&P AR 15-22. Anyway, I know of no other FFP scope with 600% magnification gain, a calibrated reticle and fully repeatable adjustments, that holds zero anywhere near this price (tested from 22LR up to 300 Win Mag) -- great job for the price.
Pros: True 1x FFP, fully repeatable MOA adjustments, calibrated reticle
Cons: Not fully calibrated adjustments, reticle a bit beefy at 6x
