Most Helpful Positive Review Top low cost FFP tactical scope
I agree. After putting it though its paces, here is the good and bad. Good: 1. Virtually perfect 1x; 2. Accurately calibrated mildot reticle for ranging and related purposes; 3. Fully repeatable adjustments (boxed perfectly across windage and elevation); 4. Holds zero well; 5. POI does not cha...

Most Helpful Negative Review You get what you pay for...
Glass is fairly good, true 1x w/ no distortion, smooth zoom. The recticle, however, is just plain bad. Too thick to see your target at 6x, dispears into background at 1x. If you are looking for an inexpensive scope for plinkin', this will get it done. If you want a competion/tactical scope, I would ...

Good glass. Poor illumination. Horrible reticle.

by no, from MI, United States Written on November 13, 2025
I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity and field of view. I can see only the tiniest trace of edge distortion at 1x. And if it isn't true 1x, it's close enough that I can't tell the difference. The eye box and eye relief are excellent from the bottom of the magnification scale to the top, which is something I cannot say about every LPVO, including some at 10+ times the price. The magnification ring has a little stub on it that makes it much easier to grasp and rotate in a hurry. All the adjustments move smoothly, neither too tight nor too loose, and the clicks are crisp and very tactile, though I would really have preferred low profile capped turrets for something intended for use in the field. The build quality seems excellent, especially for the market segment (*cough* airsoft *cough*) we're talking about here.

And that is the extent of the nice things I can say about it.

The reticle does NOT look like what's in the pictures. At least on the one I bought used, it doesn't. I have seen reviews saying that the etched lines are too thick for best use at 6x. Mine has the opposite problem. The pictures show a sort of duplex with a mil scale or maybe mil dots in the thin section, with thick lines at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00. That's not what mine has. Mine has a mil scale in the center, made of razor-thin lines that are perfect at 6x and inadequate at any lower magnification. They are so thin that the entire reticle becomes completely invisible below around 2.5x...

Great scope for the money

by Ar shooter 93, from MO, United States Written on December 18, 2016
The scope preforms great. The zoom is good and in low light and night the light up radical works great. A few very minor negatives is when zoomed in all the way the cross arrows are kinda big but not bad. You also can't use the light radical in the day time. It's not bright enough. It's not as good as 300 dollar scope but it is great for what it is.

Good optic, built like a tank

by Dave, Verified Owner from NE, United States Written on September 29, 2016
Bought this optic with the intention of running it on an NFA upper. It's a great optic, glass seems clear with no imperfections. Good eye relief, smooth magnification run. There is one caveat however, she is a pig. I mean, heavy. Weight is something like 30 ounces, which is roughly 10 ounces more than comparable optics in the same magnification range. That being said, for a first focal plane 1-6 of this quality, you'll not find another in this price range.
Pros:
  • clear glass
Cons:
  • Heavy

All the right features.

by Joe from Gilboa, NY, from NY, United States Written on June 1, 2016
This rifle scope combines all the key features, 1-6 magnification and a green or red Illuminated first plane mil division reticle (for range estimation at any magnification), I was seeking. The optics are clear and the overall feel and function of the scope suggest it is of good quality for the money. The mil divisions are lines instead of dots but the lines are more practical than dots at the higher magnification settings. The reticle elimination really enhances the utility of the scope as a CQB sight. I have only owned the scope for a few weeks so I can not address long term performance or durability, but I like what I have see thus far.

Very pleased

by Johnylaw, from NC, United States Written on May 26, 2016
Picked up this scope on special for around $150ish. Was sceptical about it, and put it on a 7.62x39 ak. Kept a tight group, easy covered by a quarter, throughout sighting it in. Once sighted in at 20 yards it shot great. Used the lowest green illumination and it worked great. Used the back side of a vtac target (one with skeletal and vitals) to confirm zero. Shot a 5 shot group in ten ring of one small circular target. Then had fun with the white over black shaped targets around the outside edges. Even shot the number "3" above the white/black target. Can't wait to see how it hold up over time, but initially I'm very impressed with the scope. Probably will shoot better groups, even out of an inaccurate ak, with a better shooter. Still very impressed initially.

Firefield 1x6x24 First Focal Plane Riflescope

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on February 19, 2014
When Im viewing thru the lens, my particular unit had a slight ellipse (blacked-out area) near the internal left lens edge (color selector side). This was not due to the parallax, but it appears the lens had been partially painted on one edge or a seal had a slight shift during the assembly process. Im hoping that this will not become an issue under the shock of recoil when it is being used. It is only a minor problem that I will wait to see if it becomes a larger issue that quality control could have prevented. As for the features, price and actual lens clarity. This scope rocks!

Firefield 1x6 IR Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on February 18, 2014
I strongly suggest that you either change the background colors/wall paper of the screen where you would register for a new account. There is absolutely no contrast and I cannot read the text on the screen. The lines also need to be made thinner, by approximately 40-50% thinner or make them transparent like the rest of the reticle.

Great for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, from AZ, United States Written on July 31, 2013
The supplied rings are too low to be used on an ar15. Had to use an ar15 scope mount
Pros: Great for the price, true 1x mil dot reticle. Accurate adjustments
Cons: Reticle becomes cluttered at 6x, supplied rings too low for ar15
