Bubba's Review of Firefield Barrage 2.5-10x40 Rifle Scope
I bought my 2.5 - 10 Barrage from a different company, but recently have begun to use OP due to their wide range of inventory, good prices, and customer reviews.
I’ve probably put about 250 5.56 rounds through my AR with this scope attached. I have had no functional problems, it’s accurate at 50yrds for me, I’ll just list the things I do and don’t like about it. Keep in mind it’s a super cheap budget scope.
PROs:
Sturdy attached mount
Quick release base
Clear at 10x, I only ever zoom this far in to study my groupings, I shoot at 2.5x
Objective lens pulls alot of light, scope is never dim
CONs:
Eye relief is stated to be up to 130mm (~5 inches), I get max 1.5”
Mount is centered on scope so it must be positioned all the way aft on my AR by charging handle
Scope feels HEAVY
Other:
Illumination has 5 brightness settings, but I prefer a plain reticle so I don’t use it
100 - 500yrd pre-set elevation adjustment for .223 seems neat, but I don’t shoot that far out, assume it would be similar for 5.56 loads
