Not even fit for a plinker

by Andrew, from IN, United States Written on December 31, 2019
Picked one of these up a while back just to have on a Taurus TX22. It functioned well at first, adequate brightness with a relatively slow strobe. It occasionally made a high pitched hum which could be "fixed" with a couple of light taps. The mounting screw stuck out the opposite end by more than a quarter inch before it was secure on any Picatinny rail. The front lens also decided it had enough of being stuck inside the housing, but managed to be coerced back in with a bit of adhesive. It proved to stand up to 22lr recoil for a bit, so I wanted to see how long it would last on a glock 19 gen 5. After 2 rounds the contacts inside shorted the battery. A lithium cr2 from energizer lasted for maybe another hour or two before the light stopped working altogether. Very disappointing but I guess I'll stick to buying the more expensive, but reliable options out there.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • fitment
  • construction
  • Electronics quality
Best Used for:
  • Airsoft
  • Disappointing children on christmas
