I had started collecting tools to make a small kit suitable for taking to the range when I decided to see what was commercially available. This Fix It Sticks Field Armorers Kit is pretty much what I had in mind, so I bought one.

I was immediately impressed by the quality of construction and design. It has just about every tool one might need and very few tools that I would never use (gun specific stuff). This kits construction is very robust and should easily last a lifetime of use in the field.

So far, between new scopes and rifle upgrades, I have used this kit almost every day this week. The only tool that I had to use that was not in the kit was a dead blow hammer that I needed for drift pins. Btw, it was the brass punches that really sold me on this product, that and the Torque Driver.

The only con: the Torque Drivers is a little rough on the hands, but considering this is for the field and not my shop, I can't complain.

If I were to design the perfect tool kit for taking to the range, I could not surpass the utility and quality of this Fix It Sticks Field Armorer's Kit. It is as fit-for-purpose as is physical possible considering the current state of material science.

The only very minor issue is that the torque wrench is a little hard on the hands, but considering that this is for field use, it is not a biggie.

While most of the gun repairs or upgrades happen in my controlled enviroment of the garage, I never know what specific tool I will need when out in the field. This kit is perfect for amatures like myself as well as the experienced. The canvas case is compact and well orginized to take with me and store where I need it most.
