Better Than Expected
I was a bit skeptic on the resolution of these units. I purchased mine elsewhere as OP were out of stock.. Very impressed with the range. I warning about humidity which can effect vision. Living in montana with low humidity and cool night temps, this thing is great. Black hot and white hot are naturally best. 50 yards great, 100 yards good enough to take a shot. Can make out barn house and hot spot deer at 600 yards. ( Not identification ) just hot spots. Barn and home are visible and can vaguely make out out-buildings. Identification 100 yards with cool night temps is great. I would have nev...

Great for the money
Really handy tool to have at your disposal. Compact and easy to use. The effective distance is really only about 75 yards if you want to be able to get a solid ID on a target but in my opinion it is well worth the money.

Have to appreciate the technology
I have experience with a higher end FLIR monocular as well as an Armasight thermal scope. Both were better, but far more expensive. There are significant limitations for the TK monocular compared to others, but it is far less expensive. The photo and video feature is a great addition that makes it even better at its price point. Don’t expect clear images with lots of pixels at moderate and extended distances, but if you want thermal technology in a simple affordable formatted with good features - the Scout TK is a good choice.
Pros:
- Price
- features
- battery life
- rugged
- Small
Cons:
- Detection distance
- picture quality

Good value for money
It doesn't work as good as some of more expensive units, but it is a good value for money. It's compact and light weight. Uses an internal rechargeable batterie which I dislike. Would prefer something I could change in field.

nifty tool
The marine tk scout is exactly the same as the tk scout except the external color. I have only got to play with it around the house so far but I can make out rabbits at 50 yards. I purchased the unit to take camping, in the woods and just checking around the property at night. The screen is pretty small but other than that it is what I expected. It will be a useful tool. It has several color palettes but I prefer the insta-alert setting.

Great little unit for the money!
The Scout TK is simple, straightforward and easy to use - for casual applications I'm very happy with this product. I haven't used this exhaustively yet but it works well for what it is. At about 10 yards I was able to spot an owl in a dense tree in total darkness (let me mention that darkness is irrelevant, this earns it's stripes in any light.) I've identified cats and foxes out to 30 yards and humans to an approx range of 70 yards. You couldn't determine if was Jack or Jill at that distance but you know its a person. The battery life is excellent and it starts up readily. The resolution isn't the best but for a handheld unit that costs less than six bills - it's a great value. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
