I dont get any muzzle bounce like you see with other flash cans on YouTube. My rifle is stable with less recoil and my zero remained exactly where it was. I would defenetly buy again.

I did not need to rezero. My sbr shot tite groups before the brake with flash can, and it shoots exactly the same with brake and with or with out the can. It did lower recoil and it pushed sound forward. No muzle bounce with or with out can. I love this thing and I would buy again.

I selected no because unless it’s electronic , such a device should be straight forward , keep it simple stupid (K.I.S.S) and the average joe of average intelligence and with moderate to greater than moderate tactical knowledge should be no instructions and should take no more than five minutes to install , adjust and uninstall. IMO. No uncoded install instructions. I hate scanning QR’s as they can be loaded with viral scripts. I’m too busy to stop and take ten minutes watching install of a device which basic principles of operation and instal based on the items’ appearance and design and what little common sense i have. Installing it was simple unless you have a regressed rail then its hard to get the device on unless you take the rail off (refer to my lack of time) , even that was simple to overcome. The internal device , simple to install but the ported small hole at the aft center I couldnt tell it that where to go up or down. Based on the crush nut i assumed where I stopped tightening is where it was to be, no shims did i have or i would have centered it, hole bottom centered. Im not a fan of 30 on torque where your blue in the face and even your gun vise chamber protector is even torquing.I just wont do that regardless. If its not accurate with my way i take it to a smith and let them torque it to position. Once in what i thought was close, ported at about 11 o’clock since im left shooter. The shield was frustrating , confounding and atypical as to what you would thin...

The A2 birdcage that came with my rifle had proven to be the best muzzle device I could find. I tried a bunch of others, some of which were quite expensive and well-recommended. But they were all somehow inferior, either in accuracy or noise, or dirt.
Finally I discovered the fortis blast deflector. Its kind of difficult to put on compared to other muzzle devices as it comes in two parts. Its also pretty expensive and you cant use your own muzzle brake, you have to purchase theirs. But it does work as advertised. It seriously reduces noise and light from the perspective of the shooter, and if you are in a line with other people they notice it too. I took it to a Minuteman course and everybody there was impressed. We shot 500 rounds in one day and mine was the quietest and dimmest. Keep in mind you still need hearing and eye protection, but it makes a difference. If you hear a bump in the night and have to use this without protection, it will be a little easier on your senses. Or god forbid, defend your neighborhood in a minuteman situation, your comrades with thank you.
Keep in mind it will be absolutely filthy after a weekend of heavy shooting, and to properly clean it I had to remove the thing entirely and stick it in a small mason jar with a lot of heavy duty solvent. But it does work. Oh, and according to my sighting-in target, its no less accurate than an A2 birdcage, and actually better than most other aftermarket devices.
Pros:
- effective, works as advertised
Cons:
- expensive, not easy to install or maintain
Best Used for:
- casual shooting, heavy duty shooting, home defense

The Fortis brake virtually eliminates all muzzle climb and the blast shield keeps it much more tolerable for those around you. Easy to install and remove the blast shield. Plus looks awesome if your rail goes to the full length of your barrel.
