Most Helpful Positive Review Great little scale
I haven't had this scale for very long but so far it has performed quite well. A lot more consistent than the battery operated scale I was using. A huge benefit for me to be able to plug it in to a wall outlet. When comparing charges with the Lee beam scale this Frankford Arsenal seems to be right o...

Most Helpful Negative Review Scale is China Man’s Junk
I thought this was a good scale because of the reviews. I guess I was wrong. The thing is brand new out of the box and it won’t even calibrate or even measure the weight of the powder pan. The thing won’t measure nothing, it just says zero. Should have bought RCBS.

Great digital scale

by BigDGA, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on February 16, 2024
I was looking for a 110v digital scale to use for verifying powder drops. Once I get my powder dropper set to the correct charge I like to check the charge periodically to make sure it's still throwing as expected. This Frankford Arsenal Platinum scale fit the bill nicely. I had previously tried to use a pocket scale but I had problems with the scale drifting or shutting off on me...not an issue with the Frankford Arsenal. I have been using this scale for a few months and have not had any drifting issues what so ever. Using my check weights the scale reads correctly every time and I even pulled out my beam scale to see if they would read the same. They did. I also like the size of the scale (it's not dainty), the included carrying case is fantastic and the large readout is good too. The only thing I would change is I personally would have like the readout to be a bit more angled (personal preference).
Pros:
  • Accurate
  • Overall Size
  • Repeatable
  • duel powered
Cons:
  • none really
Best Used for:
  • Reloading

Fast & Easy

by Kelly, from MI, United States Written on April 23, 2022
Received the scale today. Only needed a minute to set up and sit after turning it on. Easy to read display. Easy to zero and switch between grains, grams, oz's, and carrots. Calibration was fast and easy. Reads fast and accurate. A minor adjustment of my RCBS powder trickler and that works well with the scale. Used it for about an hour with no issues at all. Very happy with the scale. Would definitely recommend to other reloaders.
Pros:
  • easy to use
  • good value
  • Accurate
  • fast
  • Nice Case
  • Battery, 110v, 220v power
Cons:
  • none so far
Best Used for:
  • Powder measuring
  • weighing brass and bullets.

Quality scale

by Cheech, from SC, United States Written on September 27, 2021
I’m very happy with the Frankford arsenal scale. It came in a hard case and when I set it on the bench, I could feel it had some good weight. Calibrated it and it matched my exact 2 Lyman scales. I bought the Frankford scale, because I’m having problems with the 2 Lymans not staying on, when I first try to turn them on.
Pros:
  • BIG digital readout. Reads gn, g, oz and ct. The case can double as a small firearm case!
Cons:
  • N/A
Best Used for:
  • Weighing gunpowder

looks good for now.

by telman, from MN, United States Written on April 12, 2020
Had a Hornady LNL scale that had issues with on/off button for a long time. Always left on and was good but when trying to calibrate got error msg. and when turned off to clear error would not turn back on. Less than 3 yrs old. Checked online and best price for this was at Opticsplanet. Ordered and so far is working great. I also have other Frankford products that have worked great for over 3 to 4 yrs.

Works Decent

by Logan, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on July 25, 2018
Don't have another measure to compare it too, but dad said it jumps 0.2 grains sometimes. Works pretty good otherwise. Measured some rifle bullets with it, and it seemed to do pretty well. -L

Scale is WAY Too BIG!

by recklesswhisper, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 1, 2018
Scale is WAY WAY WAY too BIG. In order to use a powder trickler, well you'll have to rig something!

Scale does NOT work in the heat or if you if you do loading for hours on end. Not accurate after
a short time of loading. Let it cool down... and oh yeah, it comes back. But what good is that?!

^..^~~
Pros:
  • Way too much money!
Cons:
  • Way too much money!

Reloading scale-Frankfort Arsenal, platinum scale with case

by GEORGE, from IL, United States Written on December 19, 2016
Have owned this scale a short time but in the 5 times that I have used to reload shotgun shells, it works great. Large LCD readout, repeatable measures, fast and accurate. I used a nickel ( I know, very scientific....) to measure, turned the scale off then back on and weighed again. Repeated 3 times. Difference was .1 in weight. The carrying case was a nice perk as well. Can't say anything bad at this time.

Good product

by UltimaRatio, Verified Owner from SUD, New Caledonia Written on November 24, 2015
Easy to setup and to calibrate. Accurate but can drift (+/- 0.1 gn) due to temperature variation or airflow. A good product with a excellent storage case. This digital scale is a perfect tools for serious reloaders.
