Does a good job

by JC, from UT, United States Written on January 30, 2026
This little unit does a really good job. My only problem with it is the size and it needs an auto shutoff. On the other hand it is a space saver. Optics planet is a great place to buy from.
Pros:
  • Does what it is designed to do
Cons:
  • Small size and no auto shutoff
Best Used for:
  • Brass cleaning

Do Not Tumble Broken Glass

by Stumbling.Duck, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on December 16, 2024
If you tumble broken glass in an abrasive slurry, it will grind away the drum on the ends and leak.

Otherwise, the tumbler is five stars. Often, I tumble small batches of brass (with stainless pins) and the small size is more convenient than my large tumbler. This Lite model does not have a drum liner as most tumblers have.

I give Optics Planet two stars for customer service. I tried to get a replacement drum, but customer service would only give me the replacement part number for the large drum. This Lite model happened to be on sale, so I purchased the entire unit to get the replacement drum. I'm still trying to find a coating that will stick to the drum to repair it.
Pros:
  • Works great for cleaning brass, quiet
Cons:
  • Drum will quickly wear out if sharp objects are tumbled
Best Used for:
  • Cleaning brass during the reloading cycle

Frankford tumbler Lite

by JR, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on March 21, 2024
Finally got to try it out, did 3 batches of 300 PRC ( 50 at a time ) worked as expected. No leaks. Bright brass - 2 loads were once fired but the 3rd was unknown and very "dirty" in my opinion. I did 30 minutes on the 2 and for the "dirty" I did 80 minutes. No idea if I needed that much time, since I never checked during the process. But all 3 look the same now. Pins are not bad to work with if you have your magnetic plunger / trigger ready. Next up 45 Colt.

Don’t wait, just convert.

by anglerEd, from GA, United States Written on February 13, 2021
Couldn’t be happier. Quick, easy, clean brass, and no more massy toxic vibratory dust. Simple and very effective, even with just soap and hit water. The Jr is the right size for me. Still cleans way more brass much more quickly than the old dry media process.
Pros:
  • Simple
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Clean brass
