Matto's Review of Franklin Armory BFSIII AK-C1 Trigger - Binary Firing System for AK Platforms
I really wanted a binary trigger for a 7.62x39 AK. I figured that it wouldn't work in the Vepr 12. But it doesn't fit in my Vepr 7.62x39 AK or my Arsenal SAM7 SF without grinding down a protuberance that juts up just behind the trigger opening on the bottom of the receiver. I wasn't willing to do that. If you are okay with doing that, I don't see why it wouldn't fit. I see now that it also won't work in my Hungarian underfolder. So I am left with putting it in my FrankenSaiga which it fits and works well... But it's in 5.56 not 7.62x39. So my choices are leave it in the Saiga, buy another AK, or sell the trigger. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed.
Disappointments aside, the trigger seems well made, drops right in (the Saiga) with ease and I didn't have to adjust anything. Went through the function checks and everything works. I don't mind the safety selector being nonstandard AK at least on the Saiga because it's heavily altered already with a welded on magwell to accept AR mags. However, if you are a purist, it may bother you.
