Charles's Review of Franklin Armory BFSIII B&T-C1 Trigger - Binary Firing System for B&T APC9
Let me set the context for my review. Almost every gun in my collection has been refined with aftermarket components to enhance the operation of gun. This typically starts with the fire control group. And results in a trigger that is competition grade polished smooth, zero take up, breaks like a glass Christmas ornament, with zero over travel. So, when I pay this much for a fire control group this is what I am used to getting. This is my first experience with a binary fire control system so maybe I was expecting too much based on the price of the unit. The installation was pretty much drop in simple and the instructions were clear. The machine work on the components looked clean and precise. The function of the fire control group was just as advertised. The “feel” of the trigger would be what I would rate as between a very good and excellent military issue trigger. It has a military feel somewhat long take up that is acceptably smooth but hangs at the edge of the break point adding a distraction at the critical point of sear release for precise shooting. Overall, after putting a couple hundred rounds through the gun I would not hesitate recommending the trigger group as solid and reliable enough to use in a duty weapon but it does come with a slight learning curve to get the most out of it. I guess I was just hoping for a little more “polish” for the price.
