Tom's Review of Freedom Munitions .454 Casull 300 Grain Round Nose Flat Point Brass Pistol Ammunition
Update from first review.
Bought a new Citadel lever gun, which only had open sights, no rail. Shot it with my go-to Hornady 300gr at a paint can at 25 yards without issue. Expensive ammo, so I waited for further modifications. Installed a Skinner pic rail, a red dot and bought this ammo. Could not hit the broad side of a barn at 50 yards. Set up paper at 25 yards and I had flyers all over the place, shooting while sitting, resting on a bag. Thought it was my 70 year old eyes, or faulty mounting on my part. Installed a scout scope. Same results. Went back to Hornady and got consistent groups. This ammo did shoot better from my 7.5" Redhawk, but still got a 4" flyer. Not compatible with either the twist rate or increased velocity from my carbine. Definitely would use for hunting, but will reload.
