Frogg Toggs Pilot II
The only reason I'm giving these (Pilot II model) a 3 star and not 4 or 5 is because the booties around ankles are just too tight. I had to return them because I really had a hard time taking them off and while at home, sitting on a couch. After fishing a day in cold weather it wouldn't be fun taking these off. I mean, you really have to pull and I was afraid that would damage the booties after a little while. Even putting them on you have to push hard to get your foot in, and I got the XL size. I'm not a "big" guy and can reach my feet just fine and never had this problem with other waders. I read the reviews for the previous model and nobody complained about this issue but others have mentioned how hard it is to take off these Pilot II waders. Not sure why they the company made this change. Other than that these would've been a great pair of waders that would've lasted for a long time. That's how they felt anyway. I use other frogg toggs products and am pleased with them. I had their $70 waders last longer (3-4 yrs) than a pair you get for $150-$200 from other companies.
Pros:
- Built to Last
Cons:
- tight bootie
Would recommend: No
Great Product, Great Price!
I was reluctant to purchase these waiters as I felt they were too good to be true at the price. Well, I'm glad I took the plunge. These waiters would be a bargain at twice the price. I took a gamble on these to replace my old Simms guide-weight pants ($450) 10 years ago and I can tell you they are absolutely on par in quality. My only slight complaint is getting in/out of the feet as they generally strip off my socks upon removal. Overall, very pleased.
Pros:
- value/durability
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- fishing
Would recommend: Yes
