Froglube all your guns!!!

by TAC DAD, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on December 24, 2016
I have used frog lube for several years now. It is a lube, carbon remover, metal treatment, and rust inhibitor all in one. It works great!!.
Heat up the metal, apply the paste with a brush, wait an hour, wipe it off. Thats it. It makes the action on my Glocks a lot smoother with less friction like gliding on ball bearings.

It works best with steel. the heating of the steel opens up pours that allows the froglube to enter. After you wipe it off and use the firearm, the frog lube will actually "bleed out" a small amount of the frog lube.

Stainless steel and aluminum need application more often because these metals are less porous.

When you go to clean your gun after, all you need is a rag because all the dirt just comes right off. After do a followup treatment and your set for the next outing. After 3 times of this you do not have to do the full treatment every time. A little of the liquid frog lube can be applied to parts.

The only downside is the amount of time you need for the treatments, about 1.5 hours. Disassemble parts, heat them up, apply, wait an hours, wipe off, reassemble.

Also your wipe will allow you to do this indoors since it has a mint smell.

Some people have reported problems in cold temperatures. I live in Florida so I have not been able to test this. This has worked really well for me. No issues what so ever. It made my AR less squeaky when I pull on the charging handle and the action was a lot smoother.
Pros:
  • lubes
  • prevents carbon from sticking to surfaces
  • No bad smell
  • helps against rust
  • makes action very smooth
  • makes guns less squeaky
Cons:
  • application method
  • may gum up in very cold temperatures
Best Used for:
  • pistols, rifles, shotguns with metal components
