Just Like a Great Pair of Boots
Been using kydex holsters for the majority of the last 5 years, so I forgot how comfortable and secure a high-quality leather holster can be.
Wanted something a nice to complement my Sig P226R so decided to go with a leather holster i.e. Galco (the best in leather holsters).
The Galco Avenger belt holster was the breath of fresh air that gun needed.
It’s no secret (or shouldn'be anyways) that a great leather holster will take some time to break in, just like a good pair of boots. But just like those boots, once you get a premium steerhide holster from Galco broken in, there almost isn’t a sweeter feeling. From the draw to the re-holster, everything is smooth and virtually effortless.
This holster may be called old fashion by some but with a reinforced mouth (indicative of the level of quality Galco is known for), molded sight rails and adjustable tension, this holster is ready for both the present and the future.
I was very excited as well to see that the Avenger holster leaves enough room for your favorite red dot equipped pistol to be secured holstered as well. I am now able to comfortably carry my favorite Sig pistol with or without a modern red dot installed on it all day on the range or out and about.

Outstanding concealed carry holster!
For me, this may well be the very best concealed carry holster ever created. First, it's made in America and the quality is absolutely top shelf in every respect. This rig rides high and close to the body prodiving maximum concealability while allowing a very fast draw when needed. The holster is beautifully moulded to your specific firearm for a perfect fit and has an adjustable tension screw for extra security. All these features mean little if the holster is not comfortable. Very best holster I have...
Great leather holster top quality workmanship. Just purchased the Galco Avenger belt holster for my Kimber Ultra carry CSE. My Kimber fit in it perfectly, only had to tighten the adjuster screw very little. Put it on looks great.... have been wearing it every day since. From now on if I purchase a leather holster it will be a Galco holster. GREAD PRICE...GREAT QUALITY!!!! Thanks Galco

Galco quality
After trying several different holsters for my 1911 Lightweight Commander, none really all that comfortable, I recently purchased the Galco Avenger from Optics Planet after reading so many positive reviews. Great holster. Galco quality goes without saying, and this is no exception. I love the close to the side fit of the holster (with a proper belt) snug fit to the gun, secure hold yet easy draw. Of course, it's a great looking holster as well. Do follow the instructions on break in and fit, though, they're not kidding when they say don't put the gun in without first wrapping it in a freezer bag! I was curious as to the fit and tried it without plastic first time and had to get someone to hold the holster while I wiggled the gun out...followed the instructions and now it's perfect.

Best Bang for the Buck
I have been a fan of Galco Holsters for years. Up until recently I was using a holster with the FBI cant. I needed a holster that was straight up and down and could be worn outside on the belt. This is the holster, a perfect fit for my 4" 1911. I have a similar holster for my full size 1911. It is comfortable, a good fit for the gun, and has maintained it shape, typical of all my Galco Holsters.

Wanted this holster for a long time
This holster was exceptional quality, Looks great and was exactly what I was looking for in a good 1911 holster. A good all-round holster for the range and conceal carry. One thing though, it was much harder to break-in than I expected. Even with EZ-Draw, it took me a good week of work to break-in this holster to the point where I can use it. I plan to buy another Galco holster soon.

Great Fit for a 3" 1911
I purchased this holster for a Para Elite Stainless 3". If you follow the directions for breaking it in, it works fine. My only suggestion would be is to use a good coating of draw ease on the entire inside of the holster. You can go without it, but I find with my arthritis it makes the draw easier.

Great Holster
A great well made holster. My Desert Eagle 1911C fit perfectly in this holster. It is of quality construction, with good seam stitching, all edges are smooth. If you have a wide holster belt it is a little stiff to get the belt through the loops. This does break in over time though. It holds the pistol securely and tight to the body so the grip does not hang out from your side. A great holster that is made in the USA!

Great Product, Great Service
Galco exceptionalism in the Avenger holster matches perfectly the exceptionalism of my Springfield Armory EMP. Quality is unsurpassed. And Optics Planet delivered this holster in only 4 workdays by standard mail, and for an excellent price. I'll not hesitate to go with both Galco and OP again.
