Most Helpful Positive Review Galco Butt Cuff, 12 gauge for right handed
Optics Planet didn't have it in stock, about a 4-5 week wait. You should call to see if in stock. What an outstanding piece of craftsmanship. Read from previous buyer how it came loose when they fired their gun. I used my leatherman (pliers) to tighten the lace. It will not budge. Beautiful piece of...

Most Helpful Negative Review 12 gauge cuff
Wrote a review earlier about how I tightened the laces with my leatherman. It seemed to hold up for a while. This is an update since then. The cuff STILL slid down the stock. Talked to a friend and he recommended I take the cuff to the shoe shop in town. They sewed on a black elastic strap (which lo...

Galco But Cuff Savage 99

by M earl, from CO, United States Written on March 6, 2021
I installed this on my savage 99f. installation was as simple as lacing up a boot. keep things tight as you go. It’s position caused me to remove the sling mount stud. I found the hole again and a scratch awl remade the hole through. The stud has remained tight after many uses. Shells fit great in the holders.
Pros:
  • looks and works great

Galco Butt cuff

by Fonz, from MN, United States Written on November 4, 2018
This is an excellent product. This is the second one I own now. They look great and are of high quality. I use a little double sided tape and tighten laces with a pliers to make sure it doesn’t slip or move.

good to go

by Jamie, from FL, United States Written on August 14, 2018
Received this butt cuff from Optics Planet as described. The cuff was packaged well but arrived later than expected (which was no big deal only two days late). Galco products have a good reputation and this item was well built as it fits my Marlin 1894 well. The only things I can say negatively about the cuff is their were a few marks on the cuff which were fairly notable. The laces are synthetic and take a while to stretch causing the cuff to loosen. However this does not really detract from the overall product.

Got this for my Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 chambered in .270 Winchester. It fits great and gives the rifle a really beautiful look. The quality of this piece is great and is what you would expect from something in this price range. Very satisfied.

Solid Construction, Classic Look

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on January 24, 2014
Purchased for an Mossberg 500 with a wood stock. A nice departure from "tactical" shotguns, this is a classic-looking piece of leather. Fit is snug, stitches and metal are excellent, and it feels like it will last years. Dark Havana compliments wood grain; pair with a similarly colored sling for great looking accessories. Read reports about the cuff sliding and I was initially worried, though I have not experienced it after a case of bird shot. Overall, it is not cheap, and may require some additional fitting (as leather sometimes does) but absolutely worthwhile, if this is the look you want. Made in USA.
Pros: Looks great
Cons: Laces can be tricky

Looks nice, Expensive

by Legacy Reviewer, from PA, United States Written on April 13, 2013
I bought this product for looks. It looks great for a Walnut stock. Its a solid piece and well made. For 71 dollars, its expensive for its practical purposes. A 10 dollar butt cuff does the same job. The lace up is a bit of a pain to get on, but it stable. THe bullet don't move from the leather very easy.
Pros: Looks great, Quality item, Solid Construction
Cons: Expensive, Hard to lace on, Bullet hard to get out

galco butt cuff, 12 gauge

This butt cuff really compliments my coach shotgun. Read where someone had a problem with it loosening after shooting. Solved that problem by tightening the lace with small pliers. Does not budge. Worth every penny. Real nice leather and great fit.
Pros: craftsmanship, fit, looks, quality
Cons: none

Galco Butt Cuff for 12 Shotgun

by Vince, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on July 31, 2010
I knew this would look great as soon as I found it online. I put it on a wood stock Remington 1100 that I had customized and it really dressed it up nicely. and it is very functional as well giving easy access to five extra shells. I like it a lot and would recommend it to anyone. It is a little expensive and I had one of the cheapy velcro on camo neoprene models but as soon as this Galco cuff came in that old one was gone. It was not as stable and it looked crappy compared to the Galco. I just wish that I had found the Galco cuff sooner.
Pros: Looks great and is functional
Cons: A little pricey but is so much nicer than fabric models

A must have!!

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on July 19, 2009
Put this on a Stoeger Coach Gun sXs shotgun and it looks great. Goes good with the rustic cowboy look. Holds five 12 gauge rounds very tightly with out sliding around when fired. Comes in different round sizes and a must have for any one sick of the cheap nylon cuffs sold everywhere else.
Pros: Install is as easy as lasing your shoes.
Cons: none that I can think of right now
