Retired (Engineering/Metrology)

I was looking for a conceal carry belt holster for my Colt Dec Spl 2" revolver. My intent was to order the Combat Master (CM118) as well as the Concealable (CON118) and return the less desirable of the two, for which Optics Planet was extremely gracious about. The Combat Master, although lesser expensive, is of a "pancake" design, as opposed to the "forward design" of the Concealable. Comfort-wise, I did not notice much of a difference. I would have to say that the Concealable is more comfortable based on the weapon I chose. The Combat Master rides approximately 1" higher but also requires a longer belt due to the fact that the holster belt loops are further from your body, a result of the "pancake" design. Both holsters have the same forward cant. I chose the Concealable and am very pleased with my choice. It's hardly noticeable when wearing it, and at the 3:00 position there is no problem with auto seat belts and seat bolsters (bucket seats). Also, you really need a gun belt for proper support.
Pros:
  • High quality
  • Looks good
  • comfortable to wear
  • Well molded
Cons:
  • Expensive, but worth it

Built well. Fits gun perfectly. Helps conceal even under pull over shirts, not just button ups. Keeps firearm close and tight to body Yet still able to make a quick smooth ready draw. Would recommend to anyone needing a good concealment holster.
Pros:
  • ligt, comfortable, looks good, easy installation, solid mount.
  • None come to mind
Cons:
  • None

Galco Concealable Belt Holster (CON440)

by teejk, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on April 4, 2015
Was looking for a "outside" carry holster for the new H&K VP9 and came across this. Great snug fit and perfect trigger coverage. I can only described the craftsmanship as outstanding. Quality leather and strong stitching. I expect it to last forever. It's available in "heather" brown or black although the black seems to be out of stock everywhere. The heather I received is much darker brown than shown (almost approaching black) but that may change with time. If it is important to you, it is "Proudly Made in the USA". Not inexpensive at $90 but true quality rarely is and Optics Planet price is $20 less than direct from Galco and what I found at several other on-line sites.

Overall, a nice holster

by ThatGuy, from KY, United States Written on January 30, 2015
The fit was very tight initially on my Kimber TLE II. After following the break-in procedure provided by Galco it fits perfectly. Comfortable to wear, and the Havana color looks really nice to boot. I think I will get another for my Glock.

GALCO Concealable Belt Holster

by mplanit, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on December 15, 2014
Didn't think I could carry my HK P30 concealed until I purchased this holster. It is light and very comfortable. The holster fits close to the body. The canted postioning is just what I needed to conceal the full size hand grip between the 3 to 4 o'clock position.
Pros:
  • Light weight, canting, gun fits perfectly
Cons:
  • price
Best Used for:
  • Concealed carry.

Great concealable belt holster for large pistols

by Mik, from IL, United States Written on September 4, 2014
I was looking for a holster to carry my FNX45 concealed. I prefer to carry my larger pistols concealed. I have no problem hiding my full size 1911 with a IWB holster. However the FNX was a issue to hide because of its size. After purchasing several other holsters that just didn't do the job I found the concealable OWB by Galco. Now I cant hide it under a tee shirt but with a light jacket or regular shirt( not tucked in) its not a problem. It rides high, tilts forward and pulls the butt end in close to the body. Well made and good looking but being a leather holster it does require break in. I would also recommend using a quality gun belt.

Nice fit for PPQ M1 and 1911

by JeffTexas, from TX, United States Written on August 15, 2014
I have a Walther PPQ M1 which I have had trouble finding a good fitting owb holster. This Galco provides a snug fit for both my PPQ and my Kimber 1911. The cant helps with concealability as well. Good quality and workmanship.

Galco Concealable Belt Holster - Left Hand - CON249B

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on September 16, 2013
This holster was everything I expected it to be. It fit the pistol tightly yet it was easy to draw and re-holster the pistol from the first time I tried it.
Pros: Great fit and immediate ease of use.
Cons: The inside finish was a bit rough and needs to be treated with oil or silicone spray.
