Obviously I am talking about a S&W Model 629-2 with the longest barrel they put on it. I have a Alser Sight mounted on it so there is not much bulk to the scope for optics. It does have a large 'field lens' though. The rig is easy to adjust and puts all the weight on my shoulder rather than on my hip. The waist strap does not bind and is easy to adjust and stays put. The shoulder strap has a non-slip band to keep it in place and distribute the weight. The 'cutaway' for the sight allows for rapind deployment of the weapon since only an inch of leather holds the muzzle of the weapon. I could not have designed a more perfect 'fit' or 'functionality' for a holster for a weapon this large. I am 6' 2" and weigh 240 lbs. I have been a Marine for over 20 years. My weapon of choice was the M1911A1 .45 Semi-Automatic. I am not as quick or accurate as I once was. Size only matters only if you are in a hurry and don't care if you hit anything. This holster just carries the goods so I can make the deliveries, on time. Semper Fi.
Pros: Closest thing for a "fast draw" for a 8 3/8" barrel .44Mag.
Cons: Having to carry a .44 Mag. with a 8 3/8" barrel w/ Laser Sight
