Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect Holster for a Big Weapon w/Laser Sight
Obviously I am talking about a S&W Model 629-2 with the longest barrel they put on it. I have a Alser Sight mounted on it so there is not much bulk to the scope for optics. It does have a large 'field lens' though. The rig is easy to adjust and puts all the weight on my shoulder rather than on my hip. The waist strap does not bind and is easy to adjust and stays put. The shoulder strap has a non-slip band to keep it in place and distribute the weight. The 'cutaway' for the sight allows for rapind deployment of the weapon since only an inch of leather holds the muzzle of the weapon. I could not...

Great chest holster

I bought this for a Ruger Redhawk Hunter, 7.5” .44mag with Leupold M8 2x optic. It carries very comfortably and handles the weight of that beast just fine. It’s very secure even when hiking and leaning over. Bonus is the silence of the rig. No noisy connections anywhere and the leather doesn’t make the same sounds as kydex when you hit a branch. Solid rig, buy with confidence.

To tight for front sight

Looks sharp, quality material, but I could not compress the end of the holster to allow the muzzle in. I had to remove the front sight for the holster to work. I have a scope on this handgun so I didn’t need the front sight. If I didn’t have a scope I would have returned it.

This Kodiak Hunter is going to make a great setup by the time hunting season rolls around. Fits my Dan Wesson 744v 44mag with the 8" barrel great after a short break-in. Would recommend without a doubt.

Great holster

I received my new Galco Kodiak Leather Shoulder Holster for Colt Anaconda eight inch today. It is very well made and the Anaconda fits like a glove; you clearly get what you pay for. Definitely not a cheap kidex or plastic holster. I look forward to many years of comfortable carry while in the woods. It fits both the original 1990's Anaconda as well as the new 2021 version. I highly recommend this fine holster.

Beautiful work of art but to Stiff to be practical

A beautiful work of art, but, Too stiff. Leather break in period Would be too much work, and still probably would not be able to draw with one hand I like the fundamental design, but I think it would be better done with the appropriate nylon casing where the stiffness could be could easily controlled, and a one-handed draw could be easily achieved.

Completely Functional with Great Style

I've always wanted a fully functional leather shoulder holster that's not a generic woven material where you gun slides around with a sloppy fit. Well I'm glad I purchased the Galco Kodiak Hunter Shoulder Holster!!! Upon arriving, I installed my 629 and it was a PERFECT FIT!!! Great looking, perfect fitting & fully functional...I wish I had purchased one of these years ago!!! You won't be sorry, get one.

Great Holster

This holster fits my smith and wesson performance 460 perfect. I didn't buy a scope yet but I will. The leather and stiching is top notch. The leather is thick very well made. It hugs my gun tight so it won't fall out. The shoulder and chest straps are comfortable and very adjustable. Great holster I highly recommend this holster.
