Bought for my defender, knowing that the holster was not designed for a 3" 1911. Am in the process of modifications to shorten the holster. Looks like it will work.

V126: Galco Vertical Shoulder Holster Component

This completed my vertical shoulder holster setup from Galco. The holster is of very good and thick leather. My 4" 629 fits nice and snug; fits like a glove. Not a big con, but the loops are a plastic type material. I would prefer metal but not a deal breaker.
Pros: High quality leather. Fits like a glove.
Cons: Plastic loops.

Galco Vertical Shoulder Holster

Took a little effort to break in but the revolver is now easy to holster and remove. The entire rig rides well on my shoulders and is very comfortable.
Pros: Good quality leather and good fit for S&W 629 - 4"
