Good holster, bad marketing - Galco Vertical Shoulder Holster System for S&W N and L Frames

I bought this shoulder holster for my Smith and Wesson N Fr 329pd .44 Mag, for winter carry/hunt carry. In saying that, the holster is very well made.It took just putting the gun in and out a few times to break it in, and letting it sit in the holster overnight. The holster is very easy to put together with the instructions included. The holster is very comfortable and very adjustable to the person. Now to the one bad thing I have to say about this holster and in my opinion keeps this from being a great shoulder holster and will keep me from buying from Galco again. Since this holster is for a Revolver Galco sends with it , quoting from Galco's website "Revolver systems include double drop pouch for loose cartridges", this system simply holds loose rounds in the pouch. This pouch is complete Garbage , 1) you can fit maybe 4 rounds in each pouch, for total of 8 rounds, and this was with great difficulty getting the pouch to close with the rounds in the pouch. Also the pouch is set up in such a way that when you try to retrieve the rounds ( using one hand on revolver, one hand to retrieve the ammo) the ammo is very difficult to get with out dropping it on the ground , so unless you put the weapon down, count on dropping the ammo on the ground. Granted this will not be an issue for range use, but if you train how you will fight, this pouch is completely useless in a tactical mindset. I believe this is a marketing point used by Galco to force the user to buy the speed holder pouch. Which is why I will not be buying from Galco in the future. In conclusion this is a great holster, but as it ships to the user, it is not practical in real world use and can not recommend it. I will look for another company to do business with in the future, a company that is looking out for the costumernot just trying to make easy money
