So close, yet so fair - Galco Vertical Shoulder Holster System

All this holster needs to shoot from a 2 star to a 5 star would be a holster side tie down. Like all Galco products this one is extremely well made there are some plastic parts, but they look fine and seem sturdy enough. I find the retention strap holds my 1911 very securely yet is extremely easy to pop off with the index finger. The double mag pouch also works well. The rig is comfortable to ware and provides excellent access to ones weapon even when seated. With a jacket on over the top concealment is excellent. So far so good. The problem arises when one wants to draw the weapon. I have found it imposable to draw my 1911 from this rig using only one hand. As it is the holster can be held in the left hand while the weapon is drawn or the holster can be pinned between the left arm and the holster. Otherwise the weapon binds up on the way out. These two options work quite well if one has no aversion to covering oneself. The unfortunate thing is that this critical flaw could have been solved by simply adding a tie down to the holster. Also I have noticed that unless care is taken my safety tends to come off when the weapon is returned to the holster.
Pros: Conferrable, good complement, well made, good retention
Cons: One handed draw all but impossible, drawing without covering yourself all but impossible
