I still use a Garmin GPSMAP 76 which requires BlueChart CDs for uploading electronic charts. I was delighted to find OpticsPlanet.com still had this product available in stock.
Pros: Can continue using marine charts on a discontinued Garmin gps device without SD card. Useful for pre-planning, laying course and tracking route. BlueChart CD's are an excellent tool for coastal cruising.
Cons: 2008 version. Marine updates not available. But that's ok with me, I always use current paper charts as first source for navigating.
