Garret Ace 250 (MOST FOR YOUR MONEY)
The Garrett Ace 250 is excellent for beginners and experts. It is the BEST in it's price range. My Ace 250 has been very reliable and with many available options it only get better.

Good beginner machine
Good beginner machine but it's processor is too slow. I would recommend the FISHER F2 over the Ace 250 any day. But if you like Garrett it is a good beginner machine. The sounds take a little while to get used to but it is a good beginner machine.

High quality. Garrett ACE 250.
Garrett ACE 250 Metal Detector is very easy to use. Convenient controls. Possible to exclude black metal. Comfortable in the hand. High quality workmanship. Little weight.

Simple and worth the cost.
Great for those starting to hunt. Easy to learn, and put together/take apart for traveling. Pinpointer feature works very well. Headphones included great for volume control.
Note: would be even better if it had a display light fuction for night use.

best bang for your buck
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST DETECTOR FOR THE VALUE. I HAVE USED SEVERAL DIFFERENT MODELS AND MFG AND NOT HAD AS MUCH "LUCK" BEFORE. THE SEARCH MODES MAKE IT EASIER TO DISCARD TRASH AND KEEP ON HUNTING.
