I have not applied this coil cover to my metal detector yet, I am sure it will protect my coils. I have read many places where passing the coils right against the soil surface will gain me and inch or two more depth detectin, which can make the difference between detecting an old coin or missing it. So now I can literally scrape the soil and rocks without harming the coils. Should make them last a long time.
