I bought this because I’m lefty and I thought it’d help me and I was right. Shoot, reload, shoot time was sped up quite a bit for the previous method I was using. Definitely would recommend to again and will definitely be buying again if I decide to build another ar.

Improved Bot Catch

The Geissele Maritime Bolt catch is what the AR15/M16 should have had in the beginning. The small button of the original bolt catch is inadequate. Just push the original pin partway out left to right. Remove the catch, clean and lube the spring and button. Place the new catch in place and using the punch push the original pin back in place. No need to use the new pin provided.

easy upgrade

Very easy to use with heavy gloves. Only issue is the larger bolt hold open pad interferes with many ambi mag release.

Love the way it looks and feels

I installed this at the same time I replaced the mil-spec trigger on my DDM4, so no issues installing. Even though I had some trouble fully seating the pin, I eventually got it and the new catch looks and functions great. Improves on mil-spec in size and texture, and I like that I can get a cleaner "slap" on reload.

Good but not for lefties

Its a solid peice and feels good but isnt compatible with ambi mag releases making it not suitable for a lefty

Must have especially for lefties

I didn't realize how much I was using the nub on the standard bolt catch to lock the bolt back until I installed this. Makes it much easier to make the weapon safe and do faster reloads.
