Geissele 13.5in mk16 super modular rail - Geissele MK16 Super M-Lok 13.5in Modular Rail

First off, the packaging was completely crushed when I received it and it looked like it went through a tornado. Fortunately, the handguard was still intact but I was not happy to see the state of the packaging when I first got it. After using a can of air to blow off all the cardboard particles that collected within the rail I went ahead and installed it. I have a Geissele barrel nut wrench so there were no road blocks for me to get it installed right away. I went to torque down the barrel nut which is made of 7075 aluminum and was surprised how fragile it really is. As I was torqueing the barrel nut down the the torque wrench started to slip and it bent one of the holes in the barrel nut. Thankfully, the barrel nut comes with two holes so I flipped it around on my Geissele reaction rod and finally got a good grip and torqued it down to spec. My OCD got the better of me and I reached out the Geissele to see if I could buy a new barrel nut for his handguard. In the meantime I will use the barrel nut that it came with even though it is partially damaged. Outside of the crushed packaging and damaged barrel nut, the handguard itself is fantastic. Super tight tolerances, nice fit and finish, easy to install as there is no timing involved and easy to get the handguard on the upper. I got it perfectly aligned using the mounting hardware and anti-rotation tabs. I really like the steel reinforced sling QD mounts and how it has 7 sided M-Lock slots. It's pretty lightweight as well. I got the handguard in black and it looks great on the new upper I built. Overall very happy with the handguard but giving it 4 out 5 stars for arriving with damaged packaging. I would definitely recommend it.
