Duke's Review of Geissele Reliability Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group (BCG), 5.56mm, Nanoweapon

There are a few premium bcg on the market that match up to this one. But as you’d expect, Geissele quality is surpassed by none. You’ll pay a lot for this bcg, ~$400, but in my opinion, if its in your budget this is the one to get. Their proprietary coating is very durable and its dry lubricity is outstanding. The lab work that went into this coating is beyond my pay-grade but it simply works, every time you squeeze the trigger. Paired with the Geissele h2 buffer and spring, Geissele buffer tube, POF dictator adjustable gas block, (separate review) my pistol length gas system 300 blk, 10.5” built on an M&M lower and a Wilson Combat mil-spec upper runs like a sewing machine. Shooting suppressed is dirty. Really dirty. Even with a tuned adjustable gas block there is significantly more carbon reaching the bcg, trigger, magazine. Even so, the carbon on my bcg wipes of quite easily even after running through 10 or more magazines. For what its worth I am glad I splurged on this bcg. The mil-spec standard bolt that I was running before getting this bcg was leaving some precariously deep lacerations on some of my cases. Not over-gassed marks on the rim, deep scratches. And as we reload, the more life out of the cases we can get the better. This bolt is much easier on them. I’ll likely get another one for my dedicated 556. After I save a while. Maybe the price comes down a little by the time I get around to it.
Pros:
  • great quality
  • Easy cleaning
  • excellent dry lubricity
Cons:
  • cost
Best Used for:
  • Reliability upgrade for any 5.56, 300 blk
