Most Helpful Positive Review WORTH EVERY PENNY

You ever press a trigger so smooth it feels like the gun whispers "I got you" before sending freedom downrange? That’s the Geissele SSA-E X with the Lightning Bow Trigger. The first stage is like the warm-up act at a rock concert—smooth, light, and just enough to get you excited. Then, BOOM, the se...

Most Helpful Negative Review Good but save the money

Don't get me wrong, it's a great trigger, but you can definitely get almost the same for less. The Larue 2S and PSA's new sabre 2S are about 90-95% of what this trigger is. I can buy 3 sabre triggers for the price of this and be perfectly happy with the outcome. Yes this does have a slight more cr...

League of it's own

The break on this trigger... Is something to experience! I've squeezed off two hundred rounds and wished I would've brought more ammo to the range. I have two SSA E triggers, one Super MCX SSA trigger, and also this SSA-E X w/lightning bow trigger.....

ALL I DO IS WIN WIN WIN.....NO MATTER WHAT!!!

They are all phenomenal two stage triggers.... Buy once...cry once people!

Worth every cent!

Submitting my Review of Geissele Ssa-E X Trigger

by JohnH, Verified Owner from MP, United States Written on July 25, 2026

More than recent upgrade to the standard SSAE. Really crisp trigger, minimal takeup, audible wall and no creep. Breaking the wall is easy and this will easily improve your split times

AWESOME SAUCE!

by Kevin, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on July 4, 2026

Love this two-stage lightening bow trigger and can’t believe how crisp the break is. If I recall the draw is 2.8-3.4 pounds. Install is pretty simple when using the provided guide pin. One trigger is going in a frankenbuild and another in an older .223. I’m not a Geissele fan boy, but I keep coming back because they build their gear right, and that’s tough to ignore when building or upgrading. May put one in my 9mm SBR.

What an upgrade!

by B1NICE, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on June 27, 2026

My first Geissele AR build and currently only owned a S&W which I made several upgrades on including the RA535 trigger which is amazing. This trigger is a whole different animal and I may never buy any other brand going forward lol

Perfect balance of fast but controlled release.

What more can I say. G$. Great trigger! Love the 2 stage. Also have SDE single stage. Prefer the bow although more expensive but worth it when on sale. Only triggers I will use.

Great trigger

Ssae x is a fantastic trigger. Although the lightening bow may not be for everyone. If you prefer curved triggers you may have some reservations about this one, for me i was able to grow to like it.

Best AR-15 upgrade - NO CONTEST

by DinoDNAdude, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on May 1, 2026

Of all the upgrades to my rifle this trigger (SSA-E X, Lightning Bow) is by far my best investment. It truly feels like a crisp incredibly high quality trigger squeeze that you get from top tier weapons. It’s that good.

From now on every rifle I build will have this trigger. It is the best out there.

Pros:

crisp trigger feel

Cons:

None

Best Used for:

slow fire
controlled rapid fire

Geissele Love Hate

by Tony Ha, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on April 19, 2026

Love the trigger, hate the price. Its a Geissele trigger so it has a crisp break with very little to none take up. Reset is fantastic. If you can splurge, then go for it. If you are on a budget and can wait, get the Larue MBT2S. Most won't be able to tell the difference between the two.
