I was looking for a replacement upgrade trigger for a Colt 9mm AR large pin that had a factory installed sear block. Most drop in triggers were blocked by the sear blocker and I didn’t want to alter the weapon. Installation was easy if you have experience with AR trigger groups. Range test 100 rounds was flawless. Always been happy with Geissele products.

Absolutely love the Geissele SSA Trigger. I personally like the slightly heavier pull of the SSA over the SSA-E and the large pin fits perfectly into the Colts that require them.

Geissele triggers are amazing, that’s why they are used by so many military and police special units. The SSA is a crisp 2 stage trigger that I would recommend to anyone. The initial take up is minimal with a noticeable wall and extremely crisp break on stage 2. I use the Geissele SSA in all my AR’s. One of the best triggers on the market in my opinion.
Pros:
- Crispness and smoothness of the trigger. Significant reduction in trigger pull.
Cons:
- Should definitely use an armorer to install.
Best Used for:
- All around use. Military, police, home defense, hunting, or just target shooting.

If you need this for your old Colt AR, nothing else will do. Nothing but the best from Geissele…a very nice break from a two stage trigger. Mine came in at an average of 4.5 lbs. Be sure to measure your pin size…it’s impossible to eyeball it accurately. Large pin is .169”…standard pin is .154”…that difference is 15/1000 of an inch. The trigger comes with a slave pin to line up that hole, the hammer pin has to be lined up by eye and is more difficult due to spring tension. Once installed…great trigger!
Cons:
- Precise long range competition

Have shot JP, McCormick, RRA, ALG, Hiperfore....for an all around trigger this is the one. You can get a lighter trigger, a faster reset trigger, a more or less expensive trigger... this is the one I keep coming back to for alll around use. Can’t go wrong.
