I purchased this spring based on the reviews stating it silenced the "twangy" sound when charging the rifle. I only noticed about a 5% decrease in the spring noise when charging. I didn't take it to the range to test the functionality of the spring yet but will keep it due to the fact that the original spring will eventually wear out. In addition, shipping was slow from Optics Planet but was a few dollars cheaper than other sites. I wasn't in a hurry to get it so the slow shipping didn't bother me too much.
