Gerber 06 Auto - Drop Point, Fine Edge Automatic Opening Knife is a fantastic knife for the money and an awesome EDC knife. I feel confident with this knife being used primarily when I’m working in law enforcement, and as one of my tools used as backup protection and for multipurpose is a plus.

Reliable product and better service
I recently purchased the Gerber 06 auto as a replacement for I lost during my days with Uncle Sam. After researching, I found that Optics Planet again had the item at the best price. They took extra time to assist me with the form so that I could purchase it. Since I was ordering it from where I was working v my listed address, their security division emailed me to verify the order. This is the first time in many years that anyone took the time to verify the information! I am very grateful they did that especially in this day and age of ID theft.

Gerber 06 Auto
I actually found this knife in a knife review video on...you know the place. Anyways, after checking reviews in several other places online, I ordered this knife through OP. Beside the purchase restriction, where only LEO, Military or Government agencies or individuals in those agencies can purchase this item, buying and shipping it to my house was a breeze. I just got it last night. I had to immediately open it up and check it out! My knife was exactly as the one I bordered and it is exactly as the description says. The safety is smooth with an audible and tactile movement. The button release does not require a lot of pressure to open. The handle and blade are of excellent quality and feel. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I would say I'd buy this knife but its so well built, by such a reputable company, I don't think I will have a need, although the want may be there.

Great quality!
Shipping took a little bit but that’s probably because I got this during the holidays, the knife is even better than I thought it would be. Now in my EDC. Haven’t had any issues with it so far and I don’t anticipate any.

Excellence
Ergonomically perfect. Sturdy build. Super sharp. Solid all the way around. And it came at an excellent price from Optics Planet. Highly recommended. In this price range, easily the best knife I own. I bought the drop point serrated, as I'm not a big fan of tanto blades. But either way, you can't lose on this knife.

Rescue knife
Have used this knife as a backup to issued survival knife and I replaced it as my primary. Features you won't find on other knives. Lanyard hole, window breaker, serrated blade, drop point. Sturdy and dependable like no other. I also carry the knife when not flying on my belt. If Gerber can find a way to produce a more professional belt sheath, it would win all the way around.
