This is a solid multi-tool. The Swiss Army line of multi-tools have been my go-to for a LONG time. Trying a Gerber was refreshing. This model impressed me with it's light weight and ample tool selections. The spring return-to-open for the pliers is what sets these guys apart from other plier tools. Definitely handy. However, I'm used to non spring pliers and don't know how much use this would be. Time will tell. The individual tools are hearty and easy to extract with a positive locking mechanism that keeps them held solidly in place when you need to apply force yet is easy to disengage when finished. Very nice. What detracts from this otherwise great design is: A) the abbreviated Phillips head is small and not as desirable for higher torque applications. OK in a pinch but a stuck bolt/screw head would be better dislodged by a full Phillips head driver. More glaringly, B) The scissors, while capable in function leave a bit to be desired ergonomically. The scissors MUST be folded COMPLETELY flat open in order to expose a non-cutting surface you can use to push the set back into the tool. Otherwise, it's very easy to run your finger against the sharp opened blade of the scissors. Not a good situation in a busy fast paced work environment. I actually like this Gerber tool... Just redesign the scissors!
Pros: It's spring loaded
Cons: Watch those scissors!
