I have owned gerber and leatherman multi tools and the gerber models a superior for two reasons; the access to the tools and the extension of the pliers head. The tools are within the plier handles and accessible from the inside rather than the outside, like leatherman. This design makes using the pliers and exerting force with them much easier and more comfortable. The pliers are accessed by gently gripping the multi-tool on the flat side surface and whipping the wrist to slide out the pliers in a rapid motion. This is much easier and quicker than having to flip and swing out the handles on the leatherman.

This purchase was a replacement for the lost item of the same brand. I did intend to purchase a slightly different model 7530, but the only difference is the saw.

I would recommend this tool. Optic planet had the best price.
