E's Review of Gerber Vital Pocket Knife
The blades aren't nearly as stiff as fixed blade knives, and I wouldn't use this like a boning knife (flexing the place on purpose). But it's a great knife for separating joints and skinning, due to the smaller size of the blades and the guaranteed sharpness a quick blade swap provides. Blades anchor securely and don't feel like they will come off during use.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Interchangeable blades
Cons:
- Not as ergonomic as fixed blade knives
Best Used for:
- Field dressing/skinning
