Legacy Reviewer's Review of GG&G Agency Rear Sling Attachments, Collapsible Stock - Looped
My agency has these sling adapters on the M4s it issues as patrol rifles. After day one of a 3-day patrol rifle school I went home with bloody fingers on my off hand.
The problem? When you pull the charging handle back your fingers rake across this sling mount. Depending on how you grip the charging handle you either peel your fingernail back (fun!) or rip your knuckles across the metal (funner!).
Spending eight hours doing rep after rep of drills really showed how poor this design is for real-world users. If you're sitting at a range casually shooting a few mags you can probably remember to work the charging handle in a way to avoid hurting yourself, but if you're going to use your rifle to do some real hard-core drills (or, God forbid, get in a real gunfight!), then avoid this model.
GG&G seems to make a good product and they do make a rear sling mount where the attachment point is at the bottom instead of on the upper sides...get that one instead.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Will rip your fingers up
