Most Helpful Positive Review Works Great
Bought this product and it arrived damaged. Called customer service and they picked up the old one and sent out a new one. The new one works great, no issues. Runs my refrigerator with power to spare. The only negotiate is that the generator is very heavy, like 110 lbs heavy. So it is not easy to move up or down stairs. Needs bigger wheels on rolling cart.

A lifesaver when needed

by Tom, from AZ, United States Written on May 7, 2022
There are many uses of a product like this and I discovered one out of necessity.

My girlfriend had emergency knee-replacement surgery and before leaving for her surgery, I thought about how I could provide the best pain relief for her as her pain-control meds and anesthesia wore off on the long drive home. She had a cryo-circulator from a previous surgery and while she was 8n surgery, I got a 10-pound bag of ice: filling the machine’s ice storage area with ice, by the time she was ready to leave the hospital, enough ice had melted to provide water for circulation in the pad that surrounded her knee; plugging the cryo-unit into Goal Zero’s battery receptacle, the unit circulated ice-cold water around the surgical incision and she had adequate pain relief during the long drive home.

The unit paid dividends three days later when a storm knocked out our power, and the cryo-cooling unit operated the 37 hours until power was restored.

We have used this unit several times to power a small freezer needed to store ice when rolling blackouts took down our neighborhood power mid-summer in California.
Pros:
  • Ready to use when you most need it.
Cons:
  • Battery loses charging capacity with each charging cycle.
Best Used for:
  • Emergencies, and when you least expect a substantial power loss.

great buy for the year

by survival, from TN, United States Written on November 26, 2016
Bought one last spring. Thinking about another with two boulder 90 panels. Highly recommend for outdoor survival. Bigger panels would be needed for fridge to be powered consistently. Recommend the cable adapter and cable extender that goes 25 ft.

Emergency needs

I've been watching this unit for months. Then it had a great price break and a gift card for next purchase. I tested a small fridge the past month and happy with its power. Ran for four days during a rain week. So I'm happy it made the test mark I needed in case of power outages. Will be getting the accessories needed for solar panels such as 25 ft cable and high VoLts connector.
