To start its an easy install. It does for your interior plastic pillar covers down cuasing a separation between plastic and headliner. Not a big deal for me. I put my rack in super tight. I drive gnarly dirt roads coyote hunting. This rack holds my firearms tight. It doesnt vibrate or move. It is very sturdy. From outside the vehical you cannot see the guns. So thy are nice and semi hidden. The only bad thing i can forsee is when u get it tight the heads of the bolts dig right into your headliner. Looks posible that after time and vibration it will damage headliner. If you remove it will definetly leave permenant indentions. I put some extra faberic between to sofen the rub effect. Like i said i installed very tight and will not be removing so i am happy with this unit. It does its job. My heavy, very expensive guns will not be falling from the sky.
