Best td chassis with caveats - Grey Birch MFG La Chassis TKD Complete Chassis System

This is a well-designed chassis which eliminates gap between the fore end and the chassis, unlike most available ones in the market. However, to do so, it requires the takedown mechanism to be include in the fore end. I had to use a combination of a takedown mechanism bought from ebay (too thick lever that does not fit the hole but right size screws) and the one on my Volquardsen barrel (right size lever but wrong kind of screws) to make it work. The chassis was also a little tight for original Ruger 10/22 receiver and I had to give a couple of taps with a mallet to get it in. I like the additional option of a setscrew at the back to provide more tension, in case the receiver is loose.

The other issue is the folding hinge. It needs to be lubricated with oil and then opened and closed for >20 times to make it work smoothly. Once it starts working it is a very smooth and has very little wobble. The stock it was led to me to buy this chassis, and I absolutely love the stock, totally worth the price.
