As someone who uses an ALICE pack to this day, these straps are a solid option. Well built and i love that they only really have padding where they sit on my shoulders. One thing ive always disliked about some of the newer issued rucks is the straps are way too thick and not contoured to a human body very well. These are awesome in that they dont stuff a bunch of padding under your armpits and remain supple and they are shaped for left/right sides. The design is good, i like the metal hardware up top, and ive had several other straps with fastex buckle quick releases and have never had a problem with them coming loose or releasing when i need them to. Materials are of a high quality, and the webbing is heavy duty and multicam is the right color. Now, not dislikes per se but things to be aware of: im 73 inches tall and these things seem long to me. Theyre fine on my shoulders but idk how they would work for a more compact Soldier, like 65 inches. Also, missing a star because only one webbing end on the pull strap has been doubled over and sewn down, so there is a teensy QC issue. Theres so much webbing that its irrelevant because I folded them again and taped them so it doesnt affect function. I bring it up because if something like that can get missed, other stuff can too, so just check them when you get them. I love them, im already using them with a DE1606 frame and an modified gen 1 MOLLE 4k bag in an alice like setup and im happy.
