This isn't the cheapest buffer tube you can buy nor the most expensive either.
Griffin Armament makes top notch components.
I bought a couple of the GA Maritime tubes, and the quality is consistent between the two tubes.
I bought it because my stocks are made for the mil-spec diameter tube.
I bought it because it's made from 7075-T6 strength forging which is stronger than tubes made from non-forgings or from 6061 tubes.
I also liked the drainage holes. The fixed stock rifles have a drainage hole in the buffer tube and screw with a drainage hole, so why not the carbine buffer tube? Many carbine tubes have a hole at the end. Be advised that some manufacturers do not drill the hole in some of their commercial buffer tubes. Griffin Armament does it a little better with tubes in the stock locking areas as well.
Tubes and other components made from 6061 are better for other applications, but for the amount of stress placed on the buffer tube, I want something stronger. See the Elzetta flashlight website for a good simple explanation about the benefits of 6061 for their flashlights.
Pros:
7075-T6 construction. Mil-Spec diameter. Consistent Quality of manufacture
Cons:
Cost (not the cheapest nor the most expensive either)
Best Used for:
Regular consistent use and training

I purchased this buffer tube for a build. It turned out nice. The tube is well suited for a silent capture system. It is nice and feels like solidly made. It is made very well. It doesn't have that cheap feeling that some tubes do.
