Much improved over the original
Grip Pods are pretty polarizing; some hate them and others swear by them. I'm a huge fan and an even bigger fan of the Gen2 texture. Great lockup and does what it's supposed to do. The only gripe I have is that it's uncomfortable to use a hybrid C-Clamp grip (using the foregrip as an angled grip) due to the protruding corners.
Hopefully a Gen3 rounds out the right angles up top.

Grip Pod Review
Great construction. Solid. I also ordered Picatinny Rail attachments for the grip. Mounting a light right on the grip is much more comfortable, in my opinion. Perfect addition to my AK. Definitely would recommend.
