Great idea - works okay. The problem with this versus a standard retainer is that it is easily too wide, or so narrow that it can fall out. I took my rifle out today and fired roughly 1500 rounds, and when I took my bolt out for cleaning, it literally fell out. I am not sure if it broke or something...

Throwaway the cutter pen, use this on every build

When I discovered that Stoner himself designed the BCG with this little gem, I dug in to find out why they switched to a cotter pin. Simple answer; easy to replace when lost. Makes sense…in the field. But for the rest of us civilians, this is by far the better play. Never again will you gave to squeeze a splayed cotter pen into that tiny hole on the other side…and you know what I mean :-/

Easily fall off

I thought the pin should be much stronger than the common pins, but it's 4x more expensive and cannot hold in place as it should be. I removed the bcg today for cleaning up after several hundreds rounds, it just fell off.
