I have this on a 7.5 AR pistol and I have a great time with it at an indoor range that I go to with no complaints or dirty looks. It pushes the concussive fireballs forward and away from you but it looks really cool! I dont think I would not use this without the blast shield unless it was on a much longer barrel so using them together they get the job done on a 7.5in barrel.
Pros:
- aesthetically functional
Cons:
- Have some form of heat protection around the barrel
- They add significant weight to the barrel and and can get ran till red hot! lol not really a con
Best Used for:
- any AR pistol lenght barrel
