Great value, but starting to cut corners?
I bought the Hawke Sport 8x42's a year ago (for east coast whitetail hunting) and was very impressed with them given their price. Not too heavy and very solid optics for the money. Great value.
Bought the 10x42s for an upcoming elk/mulie trip out west. Comparing the two side by side, the optics are still solid, but the eye cups are a lot (a lot!) flimsier. They're smaller (the rubber protectors slide right off of them) and the screw mechanism is really crummy--takes very little pressure to move them in or out, and feels like they could break with just a little bit of use.
The optics are still very good for the price, so these remain a good value (so far!), but not as good a value as they were a year ago.

Quality/economy best binnos
One of the best binnos I ve ever had. I use in bird watching and if it was 50 gr lighter it would be wonderful. Any way it is highy recomendable binno.
