I thought Red Dot Sights were good only for an approximate sighting point, such as what might be utilized on a shotgun or used for a quick snap shot while deer hunting in close proximity. I was wrong .This sight works almost as well as any scope I have owned..I bought it for my Avanti pellet rifle..This sight is small enough to allow access room to load pellets into the breech which is why I chose it over a scope..It has been the perfect sight for my shooting..I can consistently hit a tin can at 35 yards even though my rifle only shoots @ 500 ft per sec.. It seems to stay sighted in and the green and red dots are the perfect compliment for different lighting conditions..I have accidentally left it turned on over night , but the original battery still works perfectly..It would be nice if it turned off automatically when not in use, but batteries cost only $2.50 and seem to last a long time..I wish I had bought one of these sights years ago..
