DaveH85's Review of Hawke Sport Optics Sidewinder 30 ED 10-50x60 TMX IR Rifle Scope 30mm Tube Second Focal Plane
Purchased the Sidewinder ED 10-50x60 TMX scope for my new Air Arms S510 XS Ultimate Sporter PCP air rifle in .22 caliber. The TMX lighted reticle has tons of MIL dot hashes for dead on dime size groups with this rifle. The 1/4" MOA turrets are installed but you also receive the 1/8" MOA and 1/10 MRAD turrets which retail for around $90 each. The parallax / focus knob on the left is very stiff, which I guess is why you receive the optional 4" wheel for it. Many don't understand this option but it is very useful.
Parallax / focus starts at 10 yards or less then as you turn the knob it focuses from 10 yards to 100 yards (which stays in focus through infinity at that point). More than focus / parallax though it gives you ranges. I have checked various targets from 10-100 yards with a laser distance meter and then focused the scope on those targets. When you look at the wheel it will show you yardage which comes in very handy. It also includes the optional 4" objective lens sunshade and high quality flip up lens caps.
I am very satisfied at this point. I believe an earlier review claiming poor focus over 10 yards either had a bad scope (lifetime warranty though) or didn't understand the focus / parallax adjustment.
