I own 2 of the Hawke SIDEWINDER scopes #17110 & #17211. Both are mounted on CZ 452 rifles in .22cal. These scopes were first recommended to me by a good friend at my local outdoors store and I have no regrets with the purchase of either of them. I do think the glass is a little clearer on the model #17110, but it may be due to the smaller 42mm objective of the scope. There have been absolutely no issues holding zero and the scopes are built as well as other high models I have purchased in the past. I have contacted customer service before my first purchase of one of these scopes and the staff was awesome, polite and very knowledgeable. I am still learning on the APP Hawke has for their scopes, but for the most part the scope is fairly easy to use. These scopes are also my first 2nd focal plane scopes, so a little learning curve there, but eliminates the issue of covering your target with the reticle at higher magnifications. If you are looking for a good quality scope at a good price that will rival that of higher end scopes I feel you will be well pleased with these scopes. I can easily put 5 round groups that touch at 50 yards that can be covered with a dime. I know the gun & shooter play a part in that, but the scope is also a major part of it.
Pros:
- Price
- Clear optics
- Quality
- Customer Support
- accessories included

Great scope for the money. Love the fact it comes with a sunshade. Have it mounted on a Weatherby Vanguard .223, on a nightforce howa 1500/wby mount and vortex viper rings. Looks great, real clear glass, side focus works well, turrets are resettable to 0. Was a little weary that the objective is only 42mm vs 50mm for lower light hunting but it works just fine in the evening. Only complaint is that the turrets have a little bit of play before the click occurs.

This scope is one of the finest scopes for the money I have ever purchased for my FX Wildcat .22 Air Rifle. The only thing is this scope no longer comes with the hard case & the end caps are no longer screw on, they flip up & I have never been a big fan of flip up caps.
Pros:
- very clear, adjustments are very precise
Cons:
- A little heavy but not bad
Best Used for:
- Any distance up to 600 yds

Clear on full power, nice recital with half mill slash marks. With 20MOA mount you get around a 60MOA rise if you know your bullet trajectory and a can clear on full power, nice recital with half mill slash marks. With 20MOA mount you get around a 60MOA rise if you know your bullet trajectory and a can ACCURATELY use mil for measuring distance or use a good range finder then you can drop the bullet in the pocket. For the price you can’t beat the quality I bought 2 of them. I haven’t had a chance to put it thru all the paces, but so far some of my friends like it and some are looking to get one once I tested it fully. Their customer support is excellent too. I will follow up with a full report once I can give it a full test.
THE REASON I DIDN'T GIVE IT A 5 IS I HAVEN'T FULLY TESTED IT YET, IF IT PASSES TESTING IT I'LL GIVE IT A 5
Pros:
- Well worth the money
- nice turrets
- Lifetime Warranty!
- well made, great price
Best Used for:
- general hunting
- All uses
- Target/Varmint

I own probably 10 or more scopes. This Sidewinder is much easier to use, easier to see through, with thinner reticle lines that don't hide the object you are trying to sight in on at distance. the side wheel makes focusing much less complicated than the ones that have to be focused from the front of the scope. I love it.

My use on an air rifle it has its benefits.
Paralax focus down to 10yds.
Nice etched reticle with extra 1/2 divison
Between mills.(really nice for air gun use)
Locking turrets.
The bad: the glass does not have the crispness or clairty of my $200 Weaver 40/44 series. This is based on full 20x magnification.
Its just ok . Your check weld must be near perfect every time at 20x to not have the image blank out. The turret clicks are soft.
And not having any index lines under the turret to know how many turns out not so good.
It's ok for $300 for air rifle (useful features) . Not my cboice for a powder burner.
For$400 a Bushnel 6x24x40 elite is much nicer for a powder burner.

Mounted this on a Walther LGV Master Ultra .22 pellet rifle with no issues. Hawke scope came in a very nice hard case so it passed the box text lol. Had a couple issues mounting the parallax wheel, but once it's on this scope works great. Highly recommend.

The person that answered the phone "my sales representative" is a first rate person. I enjoyed his personality and will ask for him again. I think his name is Kieffer or Kiffer. just a good experience with Optics Planet. I will be back and you can count on it. Ricky
